Katie, a freelance video editor in need of work, receives a well-paid offer to edit a cryptic and bizarre video from an anonymous employer. Lacking financial resources and at risk of eviction, Katie eagerly accepts the job. The video shows people being tortured and even killed in front of the cameras – surely a carefully staged fiction. But when the first job leads to even more lucrative work and more disturbing and realistic snuff films, Katie’s life begins to fall apart. Strange characters in her apartment, horrible nightmares that keep her awake, and a mysterious illness affecting her cat. It’s only when Katie decides to quit her job that she realises how cruel her anonymous employer is and how far she is willing to go to terminate her contract.
